Community Grant

The City encourages groups, organisations and individuals to host community events (including street parties) or projects by offering financial support through our Community Grants Fund.

The purpose of the Community Grants Fund is to provide small grants for events and projects that contribute to community spirit and help build a more inclusive community in the City of Nedlands. The project to be funded must show a direct benefit to the local community. The fund also aims to support the building of local relationships, networks, community interaction, support and the gathering and socialising of residents within their local communities. All events, except street parties, must be open to the whole community to qualify for funding.

Eligible events and projects may include

  • community events,
  • festive season celebrations,
  • street parties,
  • projects that benefit local people with disabilities and their carers.

Street parties are eligible for a maximum of $250 and other events and projects are eligible for up to $1000. All funding is provided on an equal share basis, meaning if the City funds $250 for a street party, the organisers must also spend a minimum of $250.

Applications must be submitted at least 4 weeks before of the event to allow time for assessment.
