Public Transport Authority: Bus Priority Road Works on Mounts Bay Road

The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is creating a west-bound (away from the CBD) bus-only lane along Mounts Bay Road from Hackett Drive to Broadway.

This bus-only lane will help Transperth provide a more reliable bus service by bypassing congestion and help road traffic flow more smoothly.

The work
Beginning in mid-January 2015 for approximately six months, the work will include:
•         Reducing the median strip between Hackett Drive and Winthrop Avenue to create a new traffic lane
•         Modifying the Mounts Bay-Broadway intersection
•         Road resurfacing

Two lanes of traffic will remain open throughout the project, except during some night works, which may see lanes close.
Bus stops for the 23, 97, 102, 107 and 950 services along this section of road may be temporarily relocated, or closed, during this work.

Passengers should visit www.transperth.wa.gov.au, sign up for free My Alert email updates, or download the Transperth App to stay informed on changes to their service.
