Ben Hodsdon has lived in Perth for over 50 years and in Nedlands for 25.

He has taught at WAIT in the Aboriginal Bridging unit and at Worksop college in Nottingham. He is currently employed in a local high school teaching Mathematics.  He has been a Councillor at the City of Nedlands for nearly 20 years and has sat on many committees such as the Audit and Risk, Arts and Sustainability committees. He has also been the Deputy Mayor.

His motivation on being on council is to bring fairness and balance to the decision-making process. He believes in protecting and enhancing both the natural and built environments as well as ensuring a high standard of service in our core areas. He has a strong belief that council needs to be diligent and open on how we spend ratepayers' money to ensure the best possible value and results. He is also interested in protecting and enhancing the councils green spaces and verges to mitigate the unban infill as well as minimising the City’s environmental footprint. Ben spent three years as a Councillor at the Royal Agricultural Society and loves to travel domestically and internationally.
