Councillor Wetherall has been active in local government for more than 10 years. His main objectives have been cost-effective, high-quality services for ratepayers and electors and to respect and protect ratepayers’ property rights in their dealings with the local authority.  Recent progress has seen a new verge tree policy, a more ratepayer-friendly residential heritage policy and support for essential infrastructure.  Current initiatives include completion of underground power throughout the City and managing the LPS3 planning debacle that is causing many problems for the City and its ratepayers.

John Wetherall has lived in the City of Nedlands for more than 20 years and supports small businesses and the residential character of the City. He works to ensure Nedlands remains a great place to live, work, and play.  He retired 7 years ago from Curtin University where he was previously head of the School of Biomedical Sciences.
