This is Cr McManus’s second term as a councillor for the Coastal Ward. He was first elected in 2011.

Cr McManus was educated at St Joseph's Convent Southern Cross and at Aquinas College. He has five children, with his youngest daughter just having completed her high school education at John XXIII College.

Cr McManus has been involved in banking and finance all his working life and is currently a member of the executive team at Keystart Home Loans. He has lived in Mt Claremont for more than 30 years and has been actively involved in community groups during this time. He has been a member of the Claremont-Nedlands Lions club for 32 years, holding many executive positions and is presently part of the Lions/McCusker Foundation for Alzheimer's Disease Research Partnership committee. He is a life member and past President of the Claremont-Nedlands Cricket Club, member and Treasurer of the Claremont St Vincent de Paul Society and a member of the St Thomas Claremont parish council.

When first elected to Council Cr McManus’s main aim was to ensure sound financial management of the city was maintained and improved upon, that the ageing infrastructure, particularly the City's built assets that had been neglected by previous Councils, was addressed and that the young and aged in the City of Nedlands were provided with adequate amenities. He believes the Council and Administration have worked hard to ensure we are meeting these aims and the good work continues. We still have many problems to address, particularly in traffic and parking matters with parking being a big problem city wide.
