Mixed Playground wins the vote at New Court Gardens, Mt Claremont

23 September 2020

The recent call for feedback on the most appropriate choice of playground equipment for the New Court Gardens upgrade, has resulted in 140 residents from Mt Claremont having their say on the City’s Your Voice Nedlands portal.

The most popular choice with 72 per cent of the vote was the ‘Traditional and Nature Mixed Playground’ option.

City of Nedlands Mayor, Cilla de Lacy says parks and playgrounds are an important aspect of any community and help to improve the physical and psychological health of children and adults.

“Children learn important social skills while playing in community playgrounds and equipment that offers a variety of multi-sensory experiences is especially enjoyable for children of all ages.”

The new playground at New Court Gardens will provide a variety of climbing and play components designed to encourage movement, balance, co-ordination and interactive play.

Installation will commence as soon as possible with progress reports available on the Your Voice Nedlands portal.

The work will be completed within the first half of 2021.
