Tresillian Arts Centre to host major student and tutor art exhibition

Exhibition opens on Friday 4 October 2019 at 6pm and will be open daily from 10am to 4pm until 20 October.  The Centre is at 21 Tyrell Street, Nedlands.

After a phenomenally successful year of growth and popularity due largely to the introduction of a range of new art courses, Tresillian’s signature exhibition for 2019 is set to be the largest and most diverse collection ever presented.

Tresillian Arts Centre Coordinator, Lisa Macfarlane Reid says the exhibition is now in its eighteenth year and offers a wonderful opportunity for students to join with their much-admired tutors in showcasing their work.

“Our adult art students have been coming to Tresillian art classes throughout the year and will be exhibiting their works across a range of genres from realism to abstract.  Mediums include watercolour, acrylics, glass mosaics, leadlighting and ceramics as well as needlework, embroidery and beading.

“The quality of the work by the students and their tutors is truly outstanding,” Lisa said.

A feature of this year’s exhibition will be a display of three-dimensional ceramic sculptures, which is a first for Tresillian.  Students who have been learning this medium during the year have surpassed all expectations with their masterly works.

The Tresillian Arts Centre caters for students from beginners to advanced, with classes ranging from 10-12 students.  Each student is encouraged to express their own aesthetics and style while learning methods and technique.

“We’re very proud to introduce our students to the world of exhibitions as part of their artistic development and I think prospective purchasers will be pleasantly surprised at the superior quality of exhibits available for sale, at very reasonable prices,” Lisa said.

Visitors to the exhibition will also have a chance to win a $200 Tresillian Arts Centre voucher when voting in the $500 People’s Choice Award, sponsored by Captain Stirling IGA.
