Our libraries hold a range of events and activities. To see our upcoming events and to book your place, click here to view the Libraries Events Calendar.
Stories, rhymes and fun craft activities are held each week during school term for children 2-5 years. Storytime is held at Mt Claremont Library at 10.30 am on Thursdays and at Nedlands Library at 10.30 am on Fridays.
Share rhymes and songs with your baby or toddler (ages 0-2) to develop essential pre-literacy skills, giving them the start they need for a life of learning. Sessions are held 9.45 am Tuesdays at Nedlands Library and 9.45 am Wednesdays at Mt Claremont Library.
Special events and activities are held during school holidays for primary school children. Please refer to the Calendar of Events for current library school holiday activities.
Calling all Master Builders! Put your imagination and building skills to the test with our LEGO® Challenges. Complete challenges on your own or in a team, or sit out on a challenge and build your own creation.
If you are five years and older come along to the Nedlands Library LEGO® Club!
DUPLO® will be available for younger siblings. Runs during School Holidays. Check the Events Calendar for dates.
Information sessions covering a range of topics are held at the libraries along with opportunities to meet your favourite authors. Please refer to the Subjects of Note PDF Download at the bottom of the page.
The Nedlands Library Book Clubs meets at Nedlands Library once a month on Thursdays.
Session times are:
The day Book Club meet on the second Thursday of each month 1 pm - 2.15 pm
The evening Book Club meet on the third Thursday of each month 5.45 pm - 7 pm.

Book Club sets are available for hire if you are already a member of a book club or wish to start one. There is a non-refundable fee for the hire of the sets which are loaned for 8 weeks:
$30 per adult set of 10 books
$20 per junior set of 6 books

2 pm – 3 pm every Monday

Practice your English and learn Australian expressions in a friendly, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere. The group is facilitated by Catherine Ryan, a retired educator who is a local West Australian.
9.30 am – 11 am every Tuesday

Practice your Italian with a native Italian speaker, in free conversation classes at Nedlands Library.
6.30 pm – 7.30 pm every Tuesday
