City welcomes new mayor and councillors and thanks outgoing members

The City of Nedlands extends a warm welcome to newly elected Mayor Cilla De Lacy and councillors Fergus Bennett, Rajah Senathirajah and Rebecca Coghlan, along with re-elected councillors Leo McManus, Andrew Mangano and John Wetherall, following the 2019 local government elections held on Saturday, 19 October, 2019.

On behalf of the City, Chief Executive Officer, Mark Goodlet expressed thanks to outgoing mayor Max Hipkins who steps down after eight years in the role, and councillors Ian Argyle after 16 years’ service, Nigel Shaw (eight years) and Toni James (eight years) for their valuable input to the City.

“I thank the Mayor for his support of the City’s purpose and pursuits during some very challenging times in recent years.

“Being a member of a local Council can be both demanding and rewarding, so we thank all those who put up their hand to represent their community,” Mr Goodlet said.

“It’s an honourable pursuit and one that should be recognised and respected.”
