City of Nedlands appoints Interim CEO

The City of Nedlands is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr William (Bill) Parker as Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO), commencing on 2 August 2021.

Mr Parker has undertaken various roles during the past 18 years in four local government authorities including Manager Corporate Services at the City of Albany, and CEO at the Shires of Jerramungup and Denmark.  Most recently, Mr Parker has been working with Commissioners, Council members and the Executive team at the City of Perth to help rebuild its structures and functions.

In welcoming Mr Parker to the City of Nedlands, Acting CEO Ed Herne said Mr Parker’s broad range of qualifications and local government experience will be invaluable in helping to reinvigorate the City.

“Bill brings a wealth of relevant and proven knowledge and experience including a Bachelor of Business (Marketing), Master of Business (Property), Advanced Diploma Business Management and Diploma of Project Management.

“Of particular interest and value to the City is his post-graduate qualifications and experience in property economics, planning and asset management,” Mr Herne said.

“This appointment is the first of several being made by the City, filling the vacancies created by senior directors who have recently resigned.”

Ed Herne will remain at the City of Nedlands in the role of Director, Corporate and Strategy.
