The City of Nedlands regrets to announce the resignation of its CEO, Mr Bill Parker effective Friday 1 December 2023. Mr Parker has been offered and accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer at the City of Wanneroo, one of the largest and fastest growing local governments in Western Australia.
During Mr Parker’s tenure and with the support of the elected group, the City of Nedlands has addressed numerous compliance issues and undertaken a series of innovative and transformational projects. This visionary leadership and unwavering commitment have played a pivotal role in shaping the City of Nedland’s landscape and will enhance the quality of life for residents into the future.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to serve as the CEO of the City of Nedlands. I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together during this time”, said Mr Parker. “The City of Nedlands is now well placed to realise its full potential and I’m confident that the City will continue to grow and prosper over the coming years and in the capable hands of our dedicated team”.
Under Mr Parker’s guidance, the City of Nedlands has achieved several milestones such as restructuring the City finances, developing the City’s first asset management plans and developing a new Council Plan that will articulate the community’s vision and aspirations for the future.
The City of Nedlands will initiate a thorough search for a new CEO to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. The City remains steadfast in its commitments to the wellbeing of its residents and will continue working tirelessly to enhance the City’s infrastructure, services and overall quality of life.
