Capital Projects

Each year, the City administration reviews the future listed projects according to a number of factors to make recommendations for Council consideration as part of the annual budget adoption. The latest rolling Capital Work Program can be found on the City’s Corporate Documents page. Below is archived, previous Capital Works Programs recommended to assist in tracking the history and movements in project scheduling and reasons for these adjustments.

 

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Drainage Projects

Waroonga Road Drainage Works Project - PLANNED

Update as of 29 October 2024

The City of Nedlands is proposing to conduct works on the drainage system at Waroonga Road Nedlands. The works will improve the capacity of the City’s local stormwater drainage system in the Waroonga Rd area and minimise flooding.  

Temporary markers are in place on the verges in Waroonga Road for the purpose of identifying the location and depths of all underground utility services.

The City will be engaging the services of a recognised contractor who specialises in Stormwater Drainage construction to complete these works.  

The Contractor is likely to commence works in late November and be finished by the middle of December.

Smyth Road (Between Aberdere Road and Carrington Street) - COMPLETE

All works are now complete.

Rochdale Road, Between Alfred Road and Haldane Street - COMPLETE

Update as of 2 February 2024

All works are now complete.

Lemnos Street (Brockway Road to Bedbrook Place) - COMPLETE 

Update as of 17 June 2024.

All works are now complete.

Broadway between Stirling Highway and Princess Road - COMPLETE

Carrington Street - COMPLETE

  Public Open Space Projects

Sports Lighting Upgrades - IN PROGRESS

Update as of 1 October 2024

The City of Nedlands are working with various sporting groups to upgrade the sports lighting at some of our ovals.

It is planned to upgrade lighting in 2025 at the following sporting reserves:

  • David Cruickshank Reserve
  • College Park Lower Oval
  • Charles Court Reserve.
