Filming, Photography and Drones
Approval from the City of Nedlands is required to undertake any commercial filming or photography in buildings or on reserves managed by the City. Commercial filming and photography includes any recording or photography for commercial gain or by a commercial company. Please complete a Filming, Photography and Drone Permit Application to apply for commercial filming approval.
A completed application must be submitted to the City of Nedlands no less than:
- 5 working days for very low impact filming
- 10 working days for low to medium impact filming
- 20 working days for high impact filming
The City is unable to approve filming on the Nedlands Golf Course, Cottesloe Golf Course, Swanbourne Barracks, Karrakatta Cemetery or on private property.
All use of drones within the City of Nedlands must comply with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) rules and requirements. For more information, please refer to the CASA website.
