Book a Hall

The City of Nedlands has a range of facilities for hire. A community hire rate is offered to local groups for occasional and regular bookings. 

Halls, pavilions, and community centres available for hire include: 

  • Adam Armstrong Pavilion, David Cruickshank Reserve, Beatrice Road, Dalkeith 
  • Allen Park Pavilion, Kirkwood Road, Swanbourne 
  • Dalkeith Hall, 99 Waratah Avenue, Dalkeith 
  • Drabble House, 2 Webster Street, Nedlands 
  • JC Smith Pavilion, Melvista Avenue (opposite Thomas Street), Nedlands 
  • John Leckie Pavilion, cnr Melvista Avenue and Stone Road, Nedlands 
  • John Leckie Pavilion Youth Music Room, cnr Melvista Avenue and Stone Road, Nedlands
  • Mt Claremont Community Centre, including Banksia, Hakea and Tuart Rooms, and Mt Claremont Kindergarten building, 105-109 Montgomery Avenue, Mt Claremont

      Alcohol 

      The City does not permit the consumption of alcohol in halls and buildings for private, individual or business events. This ban does not apply to events run by incorporated sporting clubs or incorporated community organisations that are long-term users of a City facility and are based within the City of Nedlands (evidence may be requested).

      How can I book a facility on SpacetoCo?

      Booking a facility on SpacetoCo is easy! Once you've found a space that meets your requirements, simply select your desired dates and times, review the pricing and terms, and proceed to book.
      You can communicate directly with the us through SpacetoCo messaging platform.

      Can I cancel or modify my booking on SpacetoCO?

      Yes, you can modify your booking times/dates on SpacetoCo. The cancellation policy is 100% refund on cancellation up until 24hours before your booking. After that, cancel and get a 90 % refund.

      Can I view the space before booking?

      Yes, if you want to view the space before making a booking, simply contact the city on 9273 3500 to arrange a suitable time.

      What should my booking time include?

      A booking should include your set up and clean up time on top of your event run time. Please keep this in mind when selecting your start and end times for a booking request.

      Can I access the facility before my scheduled booking time to set up?

      No items are to be set up in the facility if it's not included in your booking time. Ensure you allow adequate time during your booking for setup/pack down.

      Do I need to clean up after my booking at the facility?

      Yes, customers are responsible for cleaning up after their booking at the facility. This includes removing any decorations, disposing of trash properly, and leaving the space in the same condition as it was found.
      Failure to clean up may result in additional fees or charges. Please ensure to follow the cleaning guidelines provided by the city to maintain the cleanliness and integrity of the space for the next users.

      Can I host a private event or party at the facilities listed on SpacetoCo?

      Yes, many facilities and parks listed on SpacetoCo are available for private events or parties. However, it's essential to check out event approval process which you can find here. (link to planning an event landing page)

      Can I host a recurring event or activity at the facility on a regular basis?

      If you are planning to book a City of Nedlands venue or reserve on a regular basis (more than ten times a year), please apply to become a Verified User on SpacetoCo via the following link: Verified User Application.
      A permanent key card will be issues and a $45 non-refundable fee will apply and an invoice will be generated each month for you.

      Can I have alcohol at my event?

      Is there a security deposit required when booking a facility on SpacetoCo?

      Upon key collection we will require credit card details for a hall bond amounting to $700.00. These details will be securely held on file until the hall has been inspected. It is important to note that your card will not be charged unless necessary.

      Where do I collect my access card for my booking?

      The person who made the booking needs to collect the access card. You can pick it up Monday to Friday during the week of your booking, between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm.
      If you can't pick up the key yourself, you must tell the city beforehand. Whoever collects the access card for you needs to bring their ID.
      To get your access card, go to the Administration Building at 71 Stirling Hwy, Nedlands.
      Remember, if you don't pick up your access card, you might have to pay significant fees for after-hours attendance by the Ranger Service.
