Two Port Jackson Fig Trees in Bishop Road Reserve were confirmed by the Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development (DPIRD) in January as being infested with Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer (PSHB), and accordingly requiring removal. The city has received advice this week that DPIRD's contractor will undertake the removals on Friday 3 March. Residents in the area have been informed via letter drop on 2 March. The Parks Services Team will arrange replacement plantings, likely of alternative species that are not known hosts of PSHB through the tree planting program in the cooler months of 2023.
