In accordance with the Planning and Development Act 2005 the City of Nedlands has prepared and now seeks comment on Scheme Amendment No. 12 – Trees on Private Land and Draft Local Planning Policy – Trees on Private Land. Scheme Amendment No. 12 introduces the need for development approval to remove large canopy trees from private lots in low density areas (R20 and below). Draft Local Planning Policy – Trees on Private Land guides the assessment of development applications received for tree removal, as well as the provision of new trees on development sites in low density areas.
