Underground Power Update

At its 28 May 2024 meeting, Council agreed to proceed with underground power in Floreat (Nedlands North) and Mt Claremont (Nedlands West).

This followed consideration of feedback from affected landowners on the latest costings for these projects.

Construction in Floreat is likely to commence in August 2024 and is expected to be completed by March 2025 (subject to confirmation from Western Power).  Construction in Mt Claremont is likely to commence thereafter with completion by mid 2026.

Service charges for landowners in Floreat will be issued after the project in Floreat is completed and will be issued with the 2025/26 annual rates notices in July 2025.

Service charges for landowners in Mt Claremont to be issued after the Mt Claremont project is completed and will be issued with the 2026/27 annual rates notices in July 2026.

Hollywood Update - Western Power will call for tenders for the remaining area of Hollywood once Mt Claremont commences to ensure current prices are obtained.  A decision on proceeding with Hollywood would be considered by Council once Western Power completes their tender process.
