First elected City of Nedlands Mayor in October 2021, then re-elected in October 2023.
Mayor Fiona Argyle believes in long term smart planning and putting the wellbeing of the community first in all decision making.
Since being elected, Mayor Argyle has championed possible future tree protections on private property, advocated for sustainable housing, and has visions of developing a Nedlands Nature Network schedule that would see hundreds of thousands of trees planted in the city. Mayor Argyle is passionate about education, sport, sustainability, and future cities.
Mayor Argyle is a former ABC news journalist, successful business owner and while living in Singapore was the international art curator at the Australian High Commission. Fiona holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Australia, with a double major in Politics and History. She is currently studying a Master’s Degree in International Law and International Relations.
Mayor Argyle is married with four children, the Argyle family live in Nedlands with their dog Peter Miller and two chickens. Fiona is a passionate philanthropist who loves supporting a diverse range of fund-raising events and charities.
