Biography
Elected to the City of Nedlands Council in October 2019.
Councillor Rebecca Coghlan is focused on efficiency and policy reform as pathways to a highly effective Council. Councillor Coghlan is also an advocate for strong community engagement to ensure residents voices are at the forefront of council decision making.
She is passionate about considered development in the City, a key focus area for her has been the adoption of the Local Planning Policy and Primary Controls for apartments
Professionally, Councillor Coghlan has over 30 years' experience as a health consumer advocate both at State and Federal level.
Councillor Coghlan participates in multiple committees across various areas of discipline including Integrated Transport Strategy and as an alternate member on the Joint Development Assessment Panel.
Councillor Coghlan has been a resident of the Melvista Ward for 56 years, is a mother of four and grandmother of nine. She enjoys walking, yoga, and has a love for the beach. Councillor Coghlan is also a long-term supporter of the Fremantle Football Club.
