Nedlands Library provides a FREE home delivery service and a Library Bus service to Nedlands residents who are unable to visit the library independently.
After an initial consultation with our library staff, Books on Wheels clients are matched with one of our friendly volunteers who select from a range of library items which include:
• large print and regular print books
• audiobooks
• music CDs
• DVDs
• magazines.
Up to 12 library items are delivered fortnightly on Tuesdays to the client’s door and previous items are collected and returned to the library.
“My gratitude for Book on Wheels is great… It is a 2-bus trip to the library so the red bag every second Tuesday is a welcome sight! Thank you for the wonderful service."– Books on Wheels client since 2012Nedlands residents unable to visit the library due to lack of transport but who are otherwise mobile are welcome to join our Library Bus service. There are two separate Library Bus routes that run on alternating Monday mornings. Clients are collected from their home or a designated location and driven to the library by our volunteers where they can select library items and enjoy morning tea.
“The Library Bus is a wonderful service, the staff are helpful and the volunteers are so kind and patient. It makes for an enjoyable morning out.” - Bus client since 2014If you or someone you know would benefit from the Books on Wheels or Library Bus services please contact the Books on Wheels Officer at Nedlands Library on 9273 3644 or email library@nedlands.wa.gov.au for more information.
