Community unites against fire threat to Nedlands Library - A timely reminder about bushfire breaks
A deliberately lit fire on Stirling Highway posed a threat to local residences and the beloved Nedlands Library on Saturday 11 November.
Thankfully, after efforts from City of Nedlands neighbours and local firefighters, the blaze was extinguished before it could cause serious damage.
The City extends its heartfelt thanks to those that sprang into action and helped protect our community.
Local property owners are reminded that they must complete work to their property by 30 November to prevent the outbreak, spread or extension of a bush fire.
This work includes slashing all grass and clearing all inflammable matter on the property to a height no greater than 50mm.
