The City of Nedlands will be commencing annual pruning of the roses at the Peace Memorial Rose Garden, Stirling Highway, Nedlands, during the week commencing Monday 22 July 2024.
Prior to this pruning, the City is also proposing to replace around 375 roses, adjacent the central path and cairn. Unfortunately, due to the presence of Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer (PSHB), rose bushes are to be chipped to mulch and left on-site, pending inspection by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD)
The Rose Society of WA will also be providing a demonstration this year. This will be taking place between 10am and 12 Noon on Wednesday 31 July, 2024. The Society will be offering advice on pruning, and various aspects of rose care, for members of the Community that attend.
