Do you enjoy getting out and about and helping others?
Why not become a Volunteer Bus Driver, assisting seniors getting to and from Floreat Forum for their weekly shopping trip, and heading once a month to Westfield Innaloo.
Working with a bus assistant, volunteer drivers will pick clients up from their homes in the City of Nedlands' 12-seater van to take them shopping, then return home afterwards. You'll also help clients get on and off the bus and assist with their shopping bags where needed.
You will be supported by the Volunteer Services Officer and a full driving and vehicle induction will be provided. The only requirement is a current 'C' class driver's licence.
The Positive Ageing program shopping bus runs on a Thursday and Friday morning.
If interested, please go to the City of Nedlands website and follow the Make an enquiry link.
Other volunteer opportunities are available and can be found online here.
Voluntary work makes a positive impact by enhancing the quality of life and wellbeing for residents and visitors, and building community spirit and camaraderie.
Through volunteering you can benefit in many ways too, such as making new friends, sharing your skills, and creating a sense of fulfilment.
