Emerge: Youth Art Awards 2019 

Entries are now open for the 2019 Emerge: Youth Art Awards. Young artists aged 12-25 years are invited to enter original artworks from print and photography to painting, drawing and sculpture. A prize pool of $2,000 is up for grabs. Entries close on 6 July, with the exhibition being held at Tresillian Arts Centre from 2pm-6pm on Saturday 27 July. All artwork must be delivered to Tresillian Arts Centre, 21 Tyrell St Nedlands on 22 July 2019, 3-7pm and collected on 27 July, 4-6pm.

2D work must not exceed 84cm x 60cm
3D work must not exceed 50cm x 50cm

 Conditions of Entry
1. Limit of two entries (pieces) per entrant. 
2. The artwork submitted must be original and have been completed after July 31 2018.
3. All entries are eligible for the Open Award and People’s Choice Award.  Only City of Nedlands residents will be eligible for the Resident’s Award (proof of residency will be required of the winner)
4. All winners will need to show proof of age before collecting their prize.
5. Artwork can be framed or unframed.  Unframed artworks will be mounted by a method of the Curator’s choice.
6. Any works submitted after the delivery deadline will not be included in the exhibition.
7. Work left uncollected after 30 August will be disposed of.
8. 2D work must not exceed 84 x 60cm
9. 3D work must not exceed 50cm x 50cm x 50cm. Please contact organiser to discuss your display requirements.
10. All works must be deemed appropriate to be exhibited at a family exhibition.  The organiser retains the right to rule any works deemed inappropriate and therefore will not be eligible.
11. Due to limited space, the City of Nedlands reserves the right to not display all entries.
12. The City reserves the right to use any photos of the entries, the entrants and the event in future publications.


Splashfest - Coming March 2020

Splashfest is set to come alive again in March, ready to provide the best day of wet’n’wild fun under the sun.  From 2pm-5pm, Swanbourne Reserve is the best place to beat the heat for an afternoon of free, water-filled family fun with slides, rides, games, stalls and more. There is also a chillout marquee where people can take a break from making a splash to relax and enjoy the entertainment on offer. Presented by the City of Nedlands and Nedlands Youth Advisory Council, Splashfest is a popular annual event for youth, children and families that creates a dynamic hub of music, recreation, performance and community. To find out more, call Chris Cottle on 9273 3500 or email
