Each year we showcase a young "rising" star alongside celebrated established musical performers and this year is no exception. Get ready to be dazzled by the stars of the night at this year's spectacular New Year’s Eve Gala Concerts. At just 14 years old, violinist Ellie Malonzo has already won fourteen international competitions and performed as a soloist with prestigious orchestras around the globe, including the Vienna City Orchestra and the Mosman Symphony Orchestra. Accepted into the Yehudi Menuhin School in the UK, Ellie is also a talented composer, having written several commissioned works.
Soprano Jessica Blunt, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music London and Sydney Conservatorium of Music, has graced stages worldwide, from the Vienna State Opera to Carnegie Hall. Currently a Wesfarmers Arts Young Artist with West Australian Opera, Jessica’s captivating voice and extraordinary control promise an outstanding performance.
Mark Coughlan is a renowned concert pianist, conductor, music critic, and educator. He has held significant leadership roles in the performing arts and higher education sectors, including CEO of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and Head of the Music Faculty at UWA. Leading the evening with his exceptional musical direction, Mark Coughlan will ensure a night of exquisite performances and unforgettable moments.
