The City’s contractors will be commencing remediation works on the foreshore reserve between PFSYC and the river on 11 July 2022. These works are required to be completed as a condition of PFSYC’s Part 5 Development Approval issued by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions for future improvements within their leased premises. Works to deliver the approved landscaping include removal of hardstand from the reserve area, construction of approximately 200 metres of new pedestrian footpath, installation of reticulation, conversion of grass to eco-zone between the path and river, establishment of turf using grass runners and planting of trees. It is expected works will take 4-6 weeks to complete subject to contractor availability and weather.
To ensure public safety, pedestrian management will be in place during the period of works directing pedestrian traffic around the site in accordance with the below plans.
Public access will be significantly enhanced along this section of foreshore in front of PFSYC on completion of the landscaping.
